BIBLES
First off - toss out anything you own in the way of a Bible, except for the following ones: the King James Version, the Restoration Bible, and the Geneva Bible. If at all possible, get a Bible that is bound in genuine leather - NOT bonded leather - GENUINE leather. Your hands will be touching it a lot, and they should be touching natural materials.
I don't mean one of those Bible covers that they sell in the "Christian" bookstores, I mean one that is bound in thick, genuine leather. Over a period of time, I tested several of the Bible covers that were supposed to be genuine leather, and found that almost all of them were lined with polyester, nylon, or some synthetic blend. If that is out of your price range, because most of them ARE pricey, get some leather yourself at a leather shop or a feed store, and make a cover for your Bible yourself.
You might even find a bookbinder who will do it for you. That Bible of yours is going to come into a lot of contact with your hands - or SHOULD, and genuine leather absorbs wastes that come from your skin very effectively. I was saddened to see that the Gideons are now putting out New Testaments with plastic covers on them. Don't forget - the major "Christian" publishing companies are now owned and controlled by THE CONTROLLERS, and we are the bull's eye in their target. They LOATHE us with a passion, and our Achilles heel is the Word of God - printed or otherwise. It is no wonder that there are so many "new versions" of the Bible published. They are all moneymakers for the "Powers That Be".
Most of the media that has the entire Bible on it, or just the New Testament, are usually put out by THEM, as is "Christian rock", and a host of other "Christian" items. We really don't need all of the so-called "Christian" paraphernalia they manufacture for us to buy, we need the WORD engraved in our hearts, lest we be deceived. Human beings existed for thousands of years, without all of the little figurines of "angels", lapel pins of "guardian angels", "Christian" key chains, etc., etc., etc. Just tangent travel for a moment with me, please.
Did you ever take a good look at any of those things? I wouldn't DREAM of putting one of those idols on my lapels, or hang a "Saint Anyone" around my neck, much less count on it to guard me and protect me. It is laughable, but it is NOT funny. Angels are HUGE - they are God's messengers, they are WARRIORS, not wimpy little baby-faced cherubs.
Whenever angels appeared in Scripture, they instilled FEAR in the recipient of their visit! You don't believe me? Look it up! What a bold-faced slap in the face to our wonderful Heavenly Father, to buy and wear a dippy little baby-with-wings on our clothing or around our necks on a chain, proudly proclaiming to all who lend us their ears, that it is our "Guardian Angel"!
Father, forgive them - they know NOT what they do. Okay, enough tangent traveling - I'll get back on track.
I have seen "Christian" mugs, plates, erasers, pencils, pens, cards ad nauseam, "warm fuzzy" notes, oh, please! - posters, glasses, plaques, pillows, stuffed toys, knick-knacks, rulers, checks, purses, pillboxes, calendars, coasters - anything large enough to print a cutesy spiritual saying on it - for sale in "Christian" bookstores and online. Usually, the words are not a Scripture verse, but are instead some dopey, milk-toast ditty, paraphrasing the Scripture, OR some quote from "someone" that sounds spiritual. There are all kinds of spirits out there, brethren, and all kinds of "Christian" things out there to spend money on - all to the benefit of those who wish to enslave you. Of course, there are exceptions, but think twice before you buy. You probably don't NEED it, and they CERTAINLY don't need the sale. We ARE told to write the Word on our doorposts, but this present commercial exploitation of the Word of God, is MADNESS.
Just picture Jesus wearing a "guardian angel" lapel pin on His garment, or using any of the other above-mentioned items. Really, flock - can you just not have the Word in your hearts, and share the Gospel with your words and actions? Most of those I have ever encountered who have a lot of these "Christian" things, are not people who love the Lord with a passion. Think about it.
WALLPAPER
Is it - or is it vinyl? Most of the really durable, heavy-duty stuff is either solid vinyl, or some type of vinyl-coated paper. Yes, it is beautiful, and easy to keep clean. But, there are some good, natural alternatives out there. Non-toxic paint is one, and genuine wood is another. With a bit of clever ingenuity, you can probably come up with some more, yourselves. Covering all of the walls in your living space with plastic, is not the healthiest choice.
GIRDLES
Girls - do you REALLY need them? Is it that important to wear a girdle to make your tummy look slimmer? You are simply encasing yourself in synthetic materials, darlings. You make LOOK better, but you won't last longer. Get 'em off, gals. It "ain't" worth it.
DRINK MIXES
Ah, the age of "anything-but-water"! WHO do you think makes Kool-Aid, Crystal Light, Country Time, Quik, Swiss Miss, Slim Fast, and Tang - among others? Why, it is our "friends", again - THE OLYMPIAN'S compadres - Philip Morris, Conagra, and Nestlés! Are THEY concerned about your health? You BET they are, and take every opportunity they can, to undermine it.
