DES - Diethylstilbestrol, a.k.a. Stilbestrol. At one time, Abbott
Labs had almost 400 lawsuits it was defending regarding DES.
The children of mothers who took it during their pregnancies,
developed cancer from it, in utero. Still prescribed today,
it is considered an estrogen-type drug, just like Premarin,
Evestrone, Sodestrin-H, Estroate, and Conjugated Estrogenic
Substances. It is still found in animal tissue of the beasts we eat,
and causes cancer in them, too. It is widely administered to cattle
as a growth hormone. The list of side effects from its ingestion reads
like "Shocking Symptoms to Shun". I counted almost 30 different
adverse reactions that came from taking ANY type of estrogen -
ranging from cancer and vaginal infection with candida, to eye
lesions and depression. Neat, huh? As of 2017, seems the public is
waking up to how horrible DES is, and its use has diminished a bit.
